Privacy Policy
This page describes what the game stores. Last updated October 2026.
What we store
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Username, display name, a hashed password (we never store the password itself) | Your account and login |
| Your game save (character, progress, money, relationships) | Cloud save, so you can play on any device |
| Your character’s faculty, level, hostel and room, and your character’s look | Hostel roommates, group chats, other players seeing your character |
| Your room in the game (the furniture, colours and style you chose) and the likes it gets | Room visits: shown to nobody, to your friends (the default) or to everyone, as you choose in Visit rooms. It is only the game room, never a photo of a real place |
| Where your character is on the campus map, and when you were last online | Showing who is around; kept in memory while you are online, last-seen time is saved |
| Chat messages, friend requests, blocks, reports | Chat, friends and moderation |
| SUG election votes and candidacies | The shared student union election |
| Advert details (picture, title, link, your contact, payment status, view and click counts) | Showing the advert and letting the admin contact you. Your contact details are only visible to the admin |
A login cookie (ul_session) and your browser’s user-agent text | Keeps you signed in. The cookie is a random token; only its hash is stored on the server |
What we don’t do
No advertising trackers, no selling of data, no third-party analytics in this version. The fonts come from our own server, so no outside service sees your visit. Your IP address is used briefly in memory to limit sign-up and login abuse and is not stored in the database.
Leaderboards
The game shows ranked lists (net worth, lectures attended, badges, places explored). They show your display name, username, department and level next to a number taken from your save. Other signed-in players can see them. If you do not want to appear, ask the admin to remove your entry or delete your account.
Who can see what
Other players can see your display name, username, character look, faculty, level, hostel, where you are on the map and whether you are online. Group chats are visible to everyone in that group. Direct messages are visible to the two people in them. The admin can also open any message, private chats included, to deal with reports, scams and abuse, and can search for a word or link and remove it from the game. Messages in public channels (Campus Gist, faculty and club chats) are scanned automatically for signs of scams, such as account numbers next to hostel or admission offers, and flagged for a moderator to read. Private chats are not scanned automatically. The admin can read the database.
Age
Accounts are for people aged 16 and over (the operator may change this). If you think a younger child has an account, contact the operator and it will be removed.
Keeping and deleting data
You can delete your account in Phone → Settings → Account → Delete account. That permanently removes your account, cloud save, friend links, votes and adverts. Messages you posted are removed too. Guest games live only in your browser; “Delete save” clears them.
Security
Passwords are hashed with scrypt. Sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies. No system is perfect, so please use a password you don’t use elsewhere.
